What makes the Christian God the right one?

According to Christian theology humans were made to get to know God, and seek after him (Jeremiah 29:13). In the case of the Christian religion we were made to worship the one true God, which is Yahweh.
So, this need to worship is hereditary in the sense that God has endowed humans with it, he has installed this need in us. When Jesus is asked what are the most important commandments he says:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30-31, Matthew 22:36-40, Luke 10:27)

In other words, this is what we were made for, for a relationship with God.

Then Satan is caste from heaven, and leads a raid against humanity, thus deceiving many, and for this reason that the Bible tells us why we have false religions – such as Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and so forth. These religions illuminate our capacity to need to worship, there is an ingrained need to worship in every single human being, it’s just part of our human condition. This need to worship is seen in other things today too as people now worship themselves (pride), their wealth and materials, sex, drugs and drinking, in this case even sport may be included.
Sports fans would be a likely example, if their team loses a match they become aggressive, some burst into tears, others seem to hurl abuse at the ref, they even invade pitches and fields, they support teams in huge numbers – all the trademarks of what we would associate with the the term, worshiping.
In other words, according to Biblical Christianity, if we do not put our focus and reason for existing on the one true God, we end up worshiping other things, this is seen as sinful.

For this reason, namely the inbuilt need to worship, is indicative of the reason why so many deities have been created, it is the need to worship something and believe in a transcendent being. It is part of our human condition from the earliest of times, and even up until today in our contemporary era.

  1. Here is the final record:

    Buddha’s tomb: Occupied
    Confucius’ tomb: Occupied
    Muhammad’s tomb: Occupied
    Jesus’ tomb: EMPTY

Roll your excuses any way you want, unbelievers; in the end

  2. Interesting. What evidence would you require Mark in order to determine that Jesus did not ascend?
